Awards and Achievements

I joined a construction business upon graduation from San Jose State University in 1962 with a BS degree in business, and I formed my own company, Coburn Construction in 1972.

We were developers and contractors specializing in commercial and industrial construction, and, in 1975, we were awarded the City of San Leandro's first ever "First Award - Commercial Remodeling - Large Enterprise" commendation for renovation of the Daniel Best Office Complex constructed in 1902, which was recently declared a "National Monument."

In 1982 we were awarded the prestigious "Award of Merit - Best in the West" award from the Pacific Coast Builders Conference and Builder magazine for the best extensive refurbishing and remodeling of a large apartment/nursing complex project in San Francisco from entries from the 11 Western States.

I became ordained as a minister in the Universal Life Church in 1988.
